The strong foundation laid in 1872 by Joseph Palmer has evolved to provide us with a unique blend of history, experience and foresight, which we put at the disposal of our clients.
Our talented team comprises people who have worked steadfastly at the firm over a number of years. This means that clients experience the benefit of building relationships over time, which is in stark contrast to organisations that suffer from high staff turnover.
Our investment process is particularly rigorous. The underlying principle that drives investment decisions is ‘relative value analysis’ (RVA), wherein we constantly seek the best value financial assets in which to invest.
We deliberately limit the universe of Australian stocks we examine to the top 200 in the ASX. Similarly, the international stocks we examine are large companies with a demonstrably safe track record.
Among the issues we analyse are:
- quality of management
- earnings estimates
- dividend estimates
- relative price to earnings
- price to earnings growth
- enterprise value to earnings before tax, earnings, depreciation and amortisation (EBTDA).
So, whether we are managing an investment portfolio tailored to your specific requirements or you prefer to use one of our core portfolios you can be assured that the team at Joseph Palmer & Sons has used its unique and proven ‘relative value analysis’ process to guide the selection.
We have provided an overview of our investment methodology in our recently published book, Safe Hands. All JPS Clients receive a free copy.
